Pembangunan PLTA bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pembangkit listrik dan juga mendukung perpindahan energi, berfokus pada energi hidro yang menjadi peran utama dalam Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Air. PLTA merupakan sistem yang menggunakan air sebagai pembangkit listrik.
Dalam sistem PLTA, turbin dan generator menjadi peralatan utama. Energi hidro menjadi masa depan dalam pembangkitan tenaga listrik. Memanfaatkan sumber daya alam rupanya bisa menjadi inovasi yang gemilang dan kunci keberlanjutan untuk negara demi mendukung energi terbarukan. PLTA memiliki potensi yang unggul, namun memiliki risiko yang berbahaya dan merugikan jika tidak dipelihara dengan baik.
Adanya energi terbarukan ini mendukung teknologi yang ramah lingkungan. Sumber daya alam yang dimanfaatkan untuk PLTA seperti sungai, danau, dan air laut, baik pasang maupun surut yang menjadi tempat reservoir atau area pengumpulan air yang nantinya akan mengalir ke alat generator dan turbin.

Dari hasil penelitian, sebanyak 80 persen tenaga listrik yang ada di Indoneisa menghasilkan jaringan listrik yang berasal dari bahan bakar fosil. Hal tersebut mendukung upaya dekarbonisasi dalam pembangunan fasilitas yang mendukung energi terbarukan dalam jaringan tenaga listrik.

Fasilitas negara yang mendukung PLTA melakukan perpindahan energi dari energi air menjadi energi listrik yang kemudian menghasilkan tenaga listrik. Tenaga listrik tersebut adalah tenaga yang ramah lingkungan bagi penduduk Indonesia. Program tersebut mendapatkan apresiasi dari pemerintah yang memudahkan Sobat EBT Heroes untuk mendapatkan listrik dengan memanfaatkan sumber daya alam.

Negara Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang memiliki kekayaan alam yang berinovasi menjadi teknologi energi terbarukan. Hal tersebut membuat Indonesia menjadi negara berkembang yang memiliki teknologi dari sumber daya alam.
Pengaruh Tenaga Hidro pada Pembangkit Listrik
Tenaga hidro memiliki peran penting dalam pembangunan pembangkit listrik. Inovasi ini telah dilaksanakan oleh pembangkit listrik yang ada di Indonesia demi mencapai tujuan energi bersih. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) telah menyediakan kapasitas hingga tahun 2030 untuk energi hidro. Hal ini kemudian mendukung sistem kerja pembangkit listrik. Energi hidro menjadi salah satu potensi terbesar dalam pembangunan pembangkit listrik. Namun, meskipun memiliki potensi paling besar, energi hidro juga memiliki potensi yang sama besarnya dalam urusan proses pengembangannya. Butuh waktu yang lama dalam proses pengembangan energi hidro.

Hasil perhitungan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Teknologi, Ketenagalistrikan, Energi Baru, Terbarukan, dan Konservasi Energi (P3TEK) menyatakan terdapat lebih dari 52 ribu lokasi yang dapat digunakan untuk pembangkit hidro. Jumlah lokasi yang memadai dalam mendukung energi hidro dalam proses pembangunan pembangkit listrik hingga saat ini sudah 87 persen. Sebanyak 87 persen proses pembangunan PLTA telah mencapai tahap konstruksi di beberapa wilayah Indonesia.
Pulau Jawa dan Sulawesi menjadi pilihan lokasi dari Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Air (PLTA). Energi hidro menjadi inovasi terbaru yang sangat membantu negara untuk menyediakan listrik yang berkualitas dan menyeluruh. Pengembangan PLTA memberikan manfaat tanpa batas terhadap energi terbarukan. Dengan sistem kerja yang tidak begitu sulit, memudahkan penduduk untuk memeliharanya. Secara tidak langsung, energi hidro menghasilkan energi kinetik menjadi teknologi canggih dari sumber daya alam.
Bagaimana Sistem Kerja PLTA?
Secara umum, PLTA memiliki prinsip berupa energi potensial air yang berubah menjadi energi kinetik. Air yang berada di bendungan, mengalir ke turbin dengan gaya gravitasi. Selanjutnya, air dari turbin akan mengalir ke sungai sebagai ladang kebutuhan masyarakat dalam bertani dan kebutuhan lainnya. PLTA merupakan mesin konversi energi memiliki 6 sistem, yaitu reservoir, penstock, turbine, draft tube, powerhouse, dan electricity terminal.
Peralatan utama dari PLTA adalah turbin dan generator. Reservoir merupakan area perkumpulan air dari dataran tinggi. Lalu turbin yang berada dalam bangunan disebut power house. Saluran air yang menghubungkan reservoir dan powerhouse disebut penstock.
Sistem kerja penstock memanfaatkan aliran air dari sungai yang ditampung dalam sebuah bendungan (dam) yang dialirkan pada satu rangkaian, agar energi potensial air berubah menjadi energi kinetik. Energi kinetik akan menjadi energi mekanik yang memutar turbin. Ketika turbin berputar, terjadi proses induksi elektromagnetik yang kemudian menghasilkan energi listrik.
Kelebihan dari PLTA adalah mampu menyediakan listrik dengan kapasitas besar dengan sistem kerja yang ramah lingkungan. Bahkan, dengan adanya bendungan dan PLTA, dapat membuka lapangan kerja bagi masyarakat sekitar. Namun, ada pula kekurangan dari PLTA, yaitu dengan memanfaatkan aliran sungai, bisa menjadi penyebab terganggunya keseimbangan ekosistem sungai. Tidak hanya itu, jika terjadi hal yang fatal dan bendungan mengalami kerusakan, bisa menyebabkan risiko serta kerugian yang besar.
