Salah Satu Calon PLTS Terapung Terbesar Se-Asia Tenggara Akan Ada di Indonesia

Indonesia dikenal dengan luas perairannya yang melebihi luas daratannya. Oleh karena itu, sudah sewajarnya Indonesia memiliki potensi yang sangat besar untuk memanfaatkan perairannya tersebut.

Dilansir dari briefing paper yang dirilis oleh Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) bahwa Indonesia memiliki potensi teknis Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) terapung sebesar 28,4 GW yang berada di 783 lokasi badan air dengan 27 lokasi badan air tersebut telah memiliki Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Air (PLTA).

Dalam paper tersebut juga disebutkan bahwa perkembangan PLTS apung lebih pesat dibandingkan dengan PLTS ground-mounted.

PLTS terapung sendiri sudah dikembangkan dari pertengahan tahun 2017 dengan adanya nota kesepahaman pemerintah Indonesia dengan pemerintah Uni Emirat Arab (UEA) untuk mengembangkan proyek PLTS skala besar di Indonesia.

Salah satu proyek PLTS terapung yang sedang dibangun adalah PLTS Terapung Waduk Cirata. Dibangun di atas wilayah seluas kurang lebih 200 Ha membuat PLTS ini akan menjadi PLTS terapung pertama di Indonesia, bahkan akan menjadi yang terbesar di Asia Tenggara. Dalam harian kompas.com juga disampaikan bahwa PLTS ini berpotensi untuk menjadi PLTS terapung terbesar di dunia.

Disebutkan juga bahwa proyek PLTS Cirata yang dibangun dengan kapasitas 145 MW mampu mengimbangi 214.000 ton emisi karbon dioksida.

Proyek PLTS terapung di Waduk Cirata merupakan proyek yang dijalankan oleh Konsorsium anak usaha PT. PLN Persero, yaitu PT. PJB (share 51%) dengan perusahaan asal UEA, Masdar (share 49%) dengan nama proyek Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Masdar Solar Energy (PMSE).

Terdapat hal menarik dari pembangunan proyek PLTS Cirata ini, dilansir dari laman jabarprov.go.id bahwa proyek ini telah mencapai kesepakatan financial close pada 2 Agustus 2021 dengan sindikasi tiga bank internasional yaitu Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Societe Generale dan Standart Chartered Bank dengan nilai sekitar USD 140 juta.

Ketiga bank internasional tersebut menyatakan siap untuk mendanai pembangunan proyek PLTS ini. Pemerintah juga berharap dengan dibangunnya PLTS terapung di Waduk Cirata ini dapat dijadikan sebagai contoh untuk pengembangan pembangkit energi baru terbarukan, baik itu PLTS maupun yang memungkinkan untuk dibangun di atas waduk daerah lain.

Tidak hanya itu, pemerintah juga berharap dengan adanya PLTS Cirata ini nantinya Indonesia dapat mencapai target bauran energi nasional 23% pada tahun 2025.
