Regulasi di Sektor Energi Bersih Memberikan Keuntungan Bagi Negara Uruguay

Negara Uruguay bukanlah negara yang memiliki kekayaan sumber daya alam yang melimpah seperti Indonesia contohnya, namun dengan aturan yang konsisten dan komperhensif di sektor energi bersih Uruguay dapat memiliki ketahanan energi yang baik.

Melihat kondisi yang harus bergantungan dari komoditas impor tersebut untuk sumber energi fosil, Pemerintah Uruguay pada tahun 2008 menyusun aturan kebijakan energi yang lebih mandiri dan konsisten yang kemudian pada tahun 2010 diterapkan.

Dalam pemanfaatan energi dalam negeri, Pemerintah Uruguay melakukan langkah untuk jangka panjang dengan mengurangi penggunaan bahan bakar fosil dan beralih ke bahan bakar ramah lingkungan atau energi terbarukan (PLTS, biomassa, dan biofuel)

Berdasarkan data statistik dari Bloomberg New Energy Finance, investasi domestik dan asing di sektor energi bersih Uruguay meningkat hampir 70 kali lipat antara tahun 2010 hingga 2014, dengan proyek berupa energi angin dan PLTS yang telah menarik investasi terbanyak.

Investasi di sektor energi bersih tersebut selain dapat mempercepat pemanfaatan energi terbarukan dan pengembangan energi terbarukan, nantinya juga berdampak pada perekonomian dalam negeri contoh konkretnya adalah adanya lapangan pekerjaan baru khususnya di bidang energi bersih pada negara tersebut.

Melihat perkembangan negara Uruguay dalam pemanfaatan energi bersih sehingga dapat menciptakan kemandirian dan ketahanan energi untuk dalam negeri, maka dibutuhkan suatu regulasi yang konsisten dan lengkap agar tercapai pertumbuhan penggunaan energi terbarukan yang sifatnya berkelanjutan atau kontinu.
