  • Universitas Negeri Semarang atau yang kerap disebut dengan UNNES, merupakan salah satu universitas yang digadang – gadang sebagai kampus konservasi.
  • Lingkungan yang memadai serta potensi besar yang ada, membuat kampus konservasi ini memanfaatkan energi terbarukan agar dapat digunakan sebagai penunjang pembelajaran mahasiswa.
  • Pemanfaatan energi terbarukan ini telah banyak terealisasi di UNNES. Salah satu hasil dari pemasangan panel surya ini adalah lampu yang ada serta manfaat dari pemasangan panel surya ini juga digunakan oleh pihak kampus sebagai sumber daya untuk mengisi mobil listrik

Universitas Negeri Semarang atau yang kerap disebut dengan UNNES, merupakan salah satu universitas yang digadang – gadang sebagai kampus konservasi. Terletak di kawasan pegunungan tepatnya di Kecamatan Gunung Pati, Semarang. Lingkungan yang asri, pepohonan yang masih terjaga membuat kampus ini dijuluki kampus konservasi.

Memiliki potensi lingkungan yang besar, membuat kampus konservasi ini dapat memanfaatkan energi terbarukan untuk digunakan sebagai penunjang pembelajaran mahasiswa. Universitas Negeri Semarang memanfaatkan energi matahari sebagai energi alternatif. Selain itu juga mereka memanfaatkan biogas yang berasal dari kotoran manusia.

Panel Surya

Tidak bisa dipungkiri bahwasanya energi matahari memiliki manfaat yang sangat besar. Hal tersebut menjadikan Universitas Negeri Semarang menginovasi potensi yang ada. Saat ini pihak dari universitas kurang lebih sudah merealisasikan mengenai proyek pemanfaatan energi tersebut. Pemasangan panel surya di atap gedung yang ada di kampus sudah dilakukan dan tersebar di setiap gedung yang ada.

Pemasangan panel surya tersebut menambah pasokan listrik kampus bertambah, meminimalisir adanya pengeluaran dan tentunya bersifat ramah lingkungan, yang mana sesuai dengan visi yang ada di Universitas Negeri Semarang yaitu konservasi.  Pemasangan panel surya ini tentunya menjadikan Universitas Negeri Semarang lebih berdaya konservasi.

Pemanfaatan energi terbarukan ini telah banyak terealisasi di UNNES. Salah satu hasil dari pemasangan panel surya ini adalah lampu. Lampu – lampu tersebut kini tersebar hampir di seluruh fakultas dan beberapa bangunan yang ada di UNNES. Titik – titik tersebut antara lain di Embung, depan FIP, depan FT, depan FIK, depan FE, LP2M, dan yang paling baru yaitu berada di Gedung Perpustakaan Unnes.

Selain itu manfaat dari pemasangan panel surya ini juga digunakan oleh pihak kampus sebagai sumber daya untuk mengisi mobil listrik. Di kampus konservasi ini telah meresmikan adanya mobil listrik atau yang kerap disebut dengan shuttle. Kendaraan ini dirancang sebagaimana sesuai dengan visi kampus konservasi yaitu ramah lingkungan. Bahan bakar dari kendaraan ini diambil dari sumber listrik yang diperoleh dari panel surya yang telah terpasang. Kendaraan listrik ini dioperasikan secara rutin di kampus untuk memudahkan bagi mahasiswa ataupun civitas akademik lainnya untuk ke gedung atau fakultas yang dituju. Saat ini pihak Universitas memiliki sekitar 5 shuttle yang dioperasikan setiap hari di jam perkuliahan.

Selain shuttle yang dioperasikan mengelilingi kampus setiap harinya. Di Universitas Negeri Semarang pun memiliki golf car, kendaraan ini diperuntukkan bagi para civitas akademik yang sedang berolahraga golf. Golf car ini pun menggunakan emisi yang ramah lingkungan dan juga memperoleh daya dari panel listrik yang telah dipasang. Saat ini kurang lebih 9 golf car yang sudah mampu dikembangkan oleh Universitas Negeri Semarang.

Pengembangan Energi Terbarukan

Selain panel surya, Universitas Negeri Semarang pun mengembangkan pengolahan biogas dari kotoran manusia. Tempat dari pengolahan biogas ini terdapat di dekat rusunawa UNNES. Pengolahan kotoran manusia ini dimaksudkan untuk memperoleh manfaat yang dapat berguna tidak hanya bagi civitas akademik, tetapi juga bagi masyarakat sekitar. Hasil dari pengolahan biogas kotoran manusia ini digunakan untuk menyalakan lampu dan gas. Nantinya gas tersebut digunakan untuk menyuplai gas ke kantin-kantin yang berada di rusunawa.

Kepala Rumah Tangga Unnes, Setyo Yuwono menyampaikan sebagai perguruan tinggi yang memiliki visi konservasi, Unnes berkomitmen untuk terus mengembangkan teknologi ramah lingkungan bervisi pembangunan berkelanjutan. Pendapat juga dikemukakan oleh Setyo Yuwono yaitu mengatakan bahw salah satu bentuk penyediaan energi terbarukan adalah menggunakan sistem panel surya sebagai sumber energi listrik ramah lingkungan. Masukan – masukan yang ada dari civitas akademik selalu dijadikan bahan pertimbangan dan sebisa mungkin direalisasikan, agar dapat menjadikan Universitas Negeri Semarang sebagai kampus yang memanfaatkan penuh sumber energi terbarukan. Upaya itu juga dilakukan untuk menyusul adanya kebijakan pemerintah terkait penggunaan energi terbarukan sebesar 23% pada tahun 2023.

Setelah mengetahui betapa besar potensi sumber daya yang ada di sekitar kita, hal tersebut sedikitnya dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan pembelajaran ataupun suatu ide bisnis yang ramah lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan potensi yang ada. Kita juga jadi tahu bahwasannya bisnis yang kreatif dan inovatif tidak selalu memerlukan bahan baku yang mahal, bisnis energi terbarukan ini memiliki pengeluaran yang cukup efisien.
