PLTP Ulumbu di NTT Siap Dibangun, Berkapasitas 40 Megawatt

Pemerintah Indonesia semakin gencar membangun proyek-proyek EBT, salah satunya yang sedang direncanakan yaitu PLTP Ulumbu di Pulau Flores, NTT. PLTP ini dikabarkan memiliki kapasitas 40 megawatt dan memanfaatkan tujuh area pengeboran.

Tujuh area tersebut lima diantaranya merupakan area sumur produksi, dan dua merupakan sumur reinjeksi. Menurut pemaparan Wahidin, selaku General Manager PLN Unit Induk Pembangunan Nusa Tenggara, pembangunan PLTP Ulumbu merupakan salah satu langkah PLN untuk mendukung transisi energi ke EBT di Indonesia.

Beliau juga menambahkan persiapan pembangunan PLTP sudah dimulai, salah satunya dengan cara sosialisasi masyarakat adat di beberapa daerah. Desa yang termasuk objek sosialisasi, yaitu Desa Lungar, Desa Mocok, Desa Wewo, dan Desa Go Muntas.

Menurut Wahidin, pembangunan PLTP Ulumbu 40 megawatt harus diwujudkan karena proyek ini sejalan dengan rencana pemerintah untuk meningkatkan penggunaan EBT yang ditargetkan mencapai 23% di tahun 2025.

Adapun beberapa keunggulan yang disampaikan oleh Wahidin dari penggunaan PLTP, yaitu bersifat renewable (bisa digunakan kembali), sustainable (tersedia untuk jangka waktu yang panjang), reliable (tidak tergantung kondisi cuaca), dan direct use (dapat dipakai langsung ke pengguna akhir/konsumen).

Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan peran penting dari seluruh aspek masyarakat mulai dari rakyat biasa hingga pemerintah daerah harus menyatukan tujuan untuk penggunaan energi hijau yang bersumber dari tanah Flores.
