Hebat! PT Ajinomoto Luncurkan Paper Packaging Demi Kurangi Sampah Plastik

Sampah plastik saat ini selalu menjadi masalah utama dalam pencemaran lingkungan, baik pencemaran tanah maupun laut. Sifat sampah plastik tidak mudah terurai, proses pengolahannya menimbulkan toksit dan bersifat karsinogenik sehingga butuh waktu sampai ratusan tahun bila terurai secara alami.

Penguraian sampah plastik diperlukan waktu sekitar 50-100 tahun membutuhkan waktu 2 generasi untuk mengurai usia sampah karena rata-rata umur manusia di Indonesia berkisar antara 60-70 tahun, artinya sampah belum dapat terurai semasa manusia hidup.

Untuk mengurai plastik seperti bungkus detergen butuh 50-80 tahun, sedangkan kantong plastik (tas kresek) diperlukan waktu 10 hingga 20 tahun agar bisa hancur. Bayangkan apa jadinya jika di lingkungan bumi ini kita buang sampah sembarangan, padahal setiap hari kalau kita membeli sesuatu di pasar, di supermarket ataupun warung kelontong kita akan mendapatkan kantong plastik untuk menaruh barang-barang yang kita beli.

PT Ajinomoto Indonesia berkomitmen mendukung pemerintah untuk mengurangi penggunaan plastik, salah satunya dengan meluncurkan produk MSG yang menggunakan kemasan kertas (paper packaging).

Rina Sukaesih, Corporate Planning Director PT Ajinomoto Indonesia menjelaskan dengan hadirnya inovasi Ajinomoto Paper Packaging ini dapat mengurangi penggunaan plastik hingga 30 persen. Selain itu, inovasi ini juga dapat mengurangi penggunaan plastik pada produk lainnya seperti: Masako® sejumlah 8,4% dalam setiap kemasan 9gr dan Sajiku sejumlah 9,5% di setiap kemasannya.

“Kami juga akan senantiasa berusaha untuk selalu mematuhi peraturan pemerintah terkait pengelolaan sampah plastik dan dampak lingkungan lainnya demi melestarikan Indonesia hijau,” ujar Rina Sukaesih saat konferensi pers secara virtual, Jumat, 22 April 2022.

Rina menambahkan melalui langkah-langkah tersebut, PT Ajinomoto Indonesia berharap dapat menginspirasi banyak pihak untuk melakukan gerakan lainnya yang bertujuan untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan khususnya untuk mengurangi sampah plastik,

Selain itu, upaya melestarikan lingkungan telah dilakukan Ajinomoto dalam setiap produk yang dihasilkan, dengan menerapkan proses produksi yang ramah lingkungan. Salah satu contohnya yaitu Pabrik yang di Mojokerto saat ini telah melakukan berbagai upaya untuk mencapai Zero Waste yang merupakan upaya meminimalkan dan mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan hingga ke titik nol.

Berbagai upaya yang telah dilakukan seperti pengurangan emisi karbon, pengurangan konsumsi air, penerapan Bio-Cycle & Eco-Activity yang menghasilkan co-product seperti Pupuk AJIFOL, AMINA, bahan baku pakan ternak FML, dan peningkatan pengelolaan air limbah supaya ketika disalurkan ke Sungai Brantas kualitas airnya menjadi lebih baik dan bersih.

PT Ajinomoto Indonesia nantinya akan selalu konsisten dalam memberikan kontribusi positif kepada masyarakat dengan meningkatkan kesejahteraan dan kesehatan keluarga Indonesia melalui produk dan layanan yang berkualitas tinggi.

MSG Ajinomoto ini menjadi satu-satunya MSG pertama yang menggunakan kemasan kertas dalam produknya. Dan mendapatkan penghargaan dari Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (Muri).

Saat ini, Ajinomoto dengan kemasan kertas dapat ditemukan di Official Store Ajinomoto pada berbagai platform E-Commerce, seperti Lazada, Bukalapak, Tokopedia, Blibli.com, dan Shopee. Selain itu juga, produk Ajinomoto dapat dibeli di supermarket area Pulau Jawa seperti AEON, Lulu Market, Yogya hingga All Fresh.
