Apa Sih Kapal Listrik Itu?

Penggunaan kapal listrik memiliki beberapa keuntungan dibandingkan kapal konvensional. Saat ini kepal listrik terus berkembang dan diyakini menjadi pilihan utama untuk kemajuan transportasi laut di masa depan.
Pada tahun 2017, Indonesia sendiri telah meluncurkan kapal bertenaga listrik pertama yang diberi nama MV Iriana. Kapal ini merupakan karya anak bangsa dan hasil kerja sama dengan PT Pelayaran Bahtera Baruna (ABB). Kapal tersebut memanfaatkan tenaga listrik yang bersumber dari electric motor. Hal ini akan menghemat energi dan bersifat ramah lingkungan.
Dengan spesifikasi panjang 117 meter, lebar 25,5 meter, tinggi 7,9 meter, kedalaman air mencapai 6,3 meter, serta kecepatan 10 knot, kapal tersebut hanya dikerjakan dalam kurun waktu kurang dari setahun. Pembangunan kapal ini dinilai sejalan dengan tujuan pemerintah Indonesia untuk memosisikan bidang maritim pada bagian prioritas pembangunan nasional.
Manfaat Adanya Kapal Listrik
Salah satu dibuatnya kapal listrik adalah untuk mengurangi dampak negatif dari berkendara, yaitu mengurangi pencemaran udara dan emisi karbon yang diakibatkan oleh kapal berbahan bakar fosil. Kapal listrik tidak akan menghasilkan emisi berupa gas buangan rumah kaca dan polutan udara yang bisa mengakibatkan perubahan iklim dan masalah kesehatan.
Selain itu juga berfungsi untuk mengatasi polusi air. Kapal listrik memiliki akselerasi lebih cepat apabila menggunakan tenaga instan, dan dapat menghemat biaya energi dan perawatan kapal. Tak kalah penting, kapal listrik dapat mengurangi kebisingan karena kapal listrik biasanya bersifat lebih tenang dibandingkan kapal konvensional sehingga dapat membantu pengurangan polusi suara di lautan.

- Pengisi Daya / charger
Seperti charger pada umumnya yang berfungsi sebagai pengisian ulang daya untuk energi listrik pada baterai.
- Baterai
Sebagai tempat menyimpan energi listrik cadangan yang berbahan dasar lithium-ion atau nikel.
- Charger Controller
Berfungsi untuk mengatur ampli dan voltase selama pengisian daya listrik ke baterai.
- Motor Controller
Memiliki fungsi untuk mengoordinasikan antara kecepatan, torsi, dan arah motor listrik.
- Unit Penggerak
Komponen yang berfungsi untuk menggerakan kapal agar dapat melewati air dengan tenaga dari motor listrik.
