Kali ini pemerintah sudah mulai berupaya dalam mempercepat transisi penggunaan energi baru terbarukan (EBT) yang ramah lingkungan dengan menghadirkan suatu kendaraan ramah lingkungan dan tidak menimbulkan emisi karbon, kendaraan ini biasa dikenal dengan sebutan kendaraan listrik. Kendaraan ramah lingkungan ini sudah banyak digunakan dan tersebar di berbagai daerah, salah satunya adalah bus listrik yang merupakan jenis transportasi publik. Sesuai namanya, bus listrik bergerak karena adanya energi listrik yang mengalir ke motor listrik dari simpanan energi listrik yang berasal dari baterai. 

Sesuai dengan adanya Peraturan Presiden (PERPRES) Nomor 55 Tahun 2019 Tentang Percepatan Program Kendaraan Bermotor Listrik Berbasis Baterai untuk Transportasi jalanan, adanya bus listrik ini menjadi bukti berhasilnya pemerintah dalam mengatasi emisi karbon dan polusi udara dari kendaraan dan kini bus listrik sudah mulai tersebar di banyak daerah, terutama di daerah Jakarta dengan tujuan menghijaukan jalanan untuk menuju lingkungan berkendara yang lebih bersih dan sehat. 

Di Indonesia, penggunaan bus listrik sudah tersebar di banyak daerah, dari Kota Metropolitan hingga daerah terpencil, keberadaan bus listrik telah memberikan kontribusi untuk lebih bersahabat lagi dengan lingkungan dan menghijaukan jalanan dari gelapnya asap polusi. Bus listrik di Jakarta mulai beroperasi sejak tahun 2022 yang merupakan hasil kerja sama dari Pemerintah Provinsi Jakarta dengan PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta). Bus listrik Transjakarta merupakan armada bertenaga listrik pertama yang ada di Indonesia. Hadirnya bus listrik di Jakarta merupakan bentuk komitmen yang sedang dijalankan oleh Pemerintah Jakarta untuk meningkatkan kualitas udara menjadi lebih baik dan mengurangi emisi karbon disektor transportasi.  

Hal ini sesuai dengan target Pemerintah Provinsi Jakarta untuk mencapai Net-Zero Emission pada tahun 2050, hingga saat ini Pemerintah Jakarta sudah hampir mencapai 26% untuk mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca dari yang ditargetkan mencapai 50% pada tahun 2030. Untuk mencapai hal itu, segala cara sedang diusahakan, salah satunya adalah dengan memulai mobilitas berkelanjutan yang ramah lingkungan melalui penyumbang emisi karbon terbanyak, yaitu transportasi.

Transjakarta mulai mengoperasikan 30 (tiga puluh) bus listrik di Jakarta untuk tahap pertama pada tahun 2022 sebagai transportasi publik dengan beberapa rute yang akan dilalui. Kemudian pada akhir tahun 2022 bertambah hingga 100 bus listrik yang sudah beroperasi dan akan bertambah secara bertahap menjadi 200 bus listrik pada tahun 2024. 

Bus listrik di Jakarta sudah mulai banyak, hal ini terjadi karena Pemerintah Jakarta dan Transjakarta mengejar target untuk menyediakan bus listrik sebagai transportasi publik ramah lingkungan sebanyak 50% dari jumlah transportasi publik hingga tahun 2027 dan pada tahun 2030 ditargetkan bahwa seluruh transportasinya sudah menggunakan bus listrik.

Bus listrik Transjakarta memiliki 7 rute perjalanan yang beroperasi di sekitar Jakarta dengan rute koridor sebagai berikut:

  • Rute Koridor 1E : Pondok Labu – Blok M
  • Rute Koridor 4B : St. Manggarai – Universitas Indonesia
  • Rute Koridor 4C : Pemuda Merdeka – Bundaran Senayan
  • Rute Koridor 4F : Pinang Ranti – Pulo Gadung
  • Rute Koridor 6D : St. Tebet – Bundaran Senayan
  • Rute Koridor 7A : Kp. Rambutan – Lebak Bulus
  • Rute Koridor D21 : Universitas Indonesia – Lebak Bulus
