Hal pertama yang perlu dilakukan agar baterai mobil listrik tidak cepat rusak adalah dengan memastikan bahwa charger yang digunakan merupakan produk asli dan resmi yang dikeluarkan oleh produsen mobil listrik tersebut dan bukan tiruan. Penggunaan charger yang asli dan resmi tentunya dapat mengurangi risiko kecacatan pada pompa dan kabel charger, maupun kerusakan lainnya yang akan berdampak pada baterai.
2. Tentukan Waktu Ideal Melakukan Charging
Tips selanjutnya adalah menentukan waktu ideal yang paling tepat untuk melakukan charging sesuai dengan rekomendasi pabrikan dari jenis mobil listrik yang dimiliki.
Waktu pengisian setiap mobil listrik berbeda sesuai dengan merk dan jenis charger-nya. Hal ini sesuai dengan yang dijelaskan oleh Wuling.id yang menyatakan bahwa pengisian baterai tergantung pada jenis pengisi dayanya, seperti untuk varian Standar Range menggunakan charger 2.0 kW AC dengan waktu sekitar 8,5 jam. Sedangkan untuk tipe Long Range menggunakan charger 6.6 kW AC dengan waktu sekitar 4 jam.
Dibandingkan dengan mobil listrik lain yang menggunakan wall charger atau AC Charger memakan waktu pengisian sekitar 6-15 jam. Untuk pengisian daya pada mobil listrik lebih baik dilakukan tidak lebih dari dua hari sekali. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menghindari baterai tidak cepat rusak karena terjadi overcharging.
3. Perhatikan Tempat Parkir
Pemilihan tempat parkir juga dapat mempengaruhi baterai mobil listrik agar tidak cepat rusak.
