Solar panels are devices used to generate electrical energy from solar power. In the process, solar panels require an energy source that comes from solar power to produce electricity. Solar panels are an option for increasing the clean energy mix. It is because the energy produced is more environmentally friendly.
The potential for solar power in Indonesia is very high. It is because of its location, which is technically advantageous for the activities of solar panels. In 2018, the potential of solar panels in the industry began to be seen, where these industries needed solar panels for their operations.
To take advantage of the potential of solar panels in the industry, ATW Solar as solar energy company was formed. ATW Solar was formed in 2017 with the initial aim of buying and selling solar panels. Currently, the installation of ATW Solar panels has been carried out in several places, such as Summarecon Mall Bekasi, and OCBC.

What conveniences does ATW Solar provide to customers?
In providing convenience for customers, ATW facilitates customers’ applications. “This application can be used by customers to measure their needs, make it easier for customers to order solar panels, and consult directly,” said Richard, Business Development at ATW Solar. “So, the application that we created makes it easy for the whole process, starting from communication, ordering, and service,” he continued.
In addition, ATW Solar also plans to provide rental services to residential customers, but they don’t need to go through a bank. “For example, if you want to buy a solar panel, you can buy it in installments,” said Richard. In this case, residential customers only need to pay about 20% to 30% upfront, and the remaining 70% to 80% can be paid in installments according to the capacity produced by the solar panels.

What are the challenges facing ATW Solar in expanding the installation of solar panels in Indonesia?
According to Richard, the challenges facing ATW Solar today come from internal and external factors. External factors come from government regulations that are changing, so companies must continue to adjust. Moreover, these regulations are not accepted by consumers. The government’s regulation regarding the installation of solar panels was previously a maximum of 100% of the installed power of PLN, but now it is only 15%. This is also a complaint from customers.
In addition, the mindset of the community is also a challenge for ATW Solar. “Where people still think that solar panels are not important and renewable energy is not important,” said Richard. To increase public awareness of the importance of using solar panels or renewable energy, ATW Solar is educating the public more through social media. In this case, ATW Solar tries to provide educational content to the public through posts on its Instagram account, @atw_solar .
What is ATW Solar’s future target?
Regarding the target, ATW Solar does not have a specific target considering that the market is still in the development stage and regulations are still overlapping. According to Richard, “The target of ATW Solar is just to be a top brand, so when people talk about solar panels, what comes to people’s minds is ATW Solar.”
