Perusahaan asal Korea Selatan ini telah mengambil langkah besar dengan membuka pabrik produksi baterai di Karawang, Jawa Barat. Pabrik baterai ini bekerja sama dengan produsen mobil Korea Selatan, yakni Hyundai Motor yang memiliki nilai investasi mencapai US$9,8 miliar.

Kemungkinan pabrik baterai ini akan dibangun di Pulau Jawa. Mayoritas fasilitas yang digunakan yakni pada pabrik pengolahan nikel menjadi nikel sufat, sampai pembuatan precursor dan katoda baterai, akan dibangun di Halmahera Timur, Maluku Utara.

Perusahaan ini menjalin kerja sama dengan perusahaan BUMN, yakni PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) dalam proyek pembangunan pabrik baterai kendaraan listrik dan untuk proses smelting-nya akan menggandeng Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC).
