Energi merupakan kebutuhan dasar manusia yang tidak dapat dipisahkan. Hampir semua bidang kehidupan membutuhkan energi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan manusia. Salah satunya sektor industri.
Semua industri pasti membutuhkan energi, entah itu energi listrik ataupun energi lain yang digunakan dalam kegiatan industri. Sektor industri pula yang lebih banyak menggunakan energi daripada sektor lain, dimana industri mengkonsumsi sekitar 54 persen dari total energi dunia.
Penggunaan energi di sektor industri bertujuan untuk proses dan perakitan, uap dan kogenerasi, proses pemanasan, pendinginan dan pencahayaan, serta pemanas dan pendingin ruangan untuk bangunan. Konsumsi energi di sektor industri juga termasuk bahan baku kimia dasar.
Namun, seiring berjalannya waktu, sumber energi konvensional seperti minyak bumi dan batu bara semakin menipis, karena sumber energi tersebut merupakan sumber energi yang tidak dapat diperbaharui.
Melihat berkurangnya energi ini, kita makin tahu Indonesia membutuhkan pengelolaan energi yang harus dilakukan secara bijak, produktif dan efisien. Dalam hal ini dibutuhkan seorang manajer energi untuk mengelola energi.
Tugas dan Tanggung Jawab Manajer Energi
Manajemen energi adalah kegiatan perusahaan yang diselenggarakan menurut prinsip manajemen, dengan tujuan penghematan energi, sehingga biaya energi sebagai komponen biaya produksi/operasi dapat ditekan serendah mungkin.
Tujuan manajemen energi yaitu penghematan sumber daya, perlindungan iklim, dan penghematan biaya. Bagi konsumen, manajemen energi mempermudah untuk mendapatkan akses terhadap energi sesuai dengan apa dan kapan yang mereka butuhkan sehingga dengan hadirnya manajemen energi nantinya mereka akan makin tahu Indonesia kedepannya.
Tugas dan tanggung jawab seorang manajer energi adalah:
- Analisis konsumsi energi.
Manajer energi melakukan analisis terhadap konsumsi energi di seluruh organisasi. Mereka mengumpulkan data dan informasi terkait penggunaan energi, baik dari sumber daya fosil maupun energi terbarukan.
- Identifikasi peluang penghematan energi.
Dengan memanfaatkan data yang telah dikumpulkan, manajer energi dapat mengidentifikasi peluang penghematan energi. Mereka mencari area di mana efisiensi dapat ditingkatkan, seperti penggunaan peralatan yang lebih efisien atau penerapan praktik energi terbarukan.
- Perencanaan dan pelaksanaan strategi pengelolaan energi.
Manajer energi merencanakan dan melaksanakan strategi pengelolaan energi yang telah dirancang. Mereka bekerja sama dengan berbagai departemen untuk memastikan implementasi strategi ini.
