Dengan memanfaatkan sampah organik menjadi Eco Enzyme, banyak juga manfaat yang bisa kita peroleh, Eco enzyme dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pupuk tanaman, campuran untuk mencuci piring, campuran untuk membersihkan area dapur dan kamar mandi, campuran untuk mengepel lantai, dan lain-lain.

Banyak manfaat yang dapat dirasakan dengan memanfaatkan sisa sampah organik yang diolah menjadi eco enzyme, bahkan sampai bernilai ekonomis.

Penjelasan Eco Enzyme

Di kutip dari Channel Youtube Irnevawati MM, Eco enzyme merupakan cairan hasil fermentasi dari sampah organik. Limbah sampah tersebut berupa sisa sayuran dan buah buahan.

Sedangkan bahan lainnya yang digunakan untuk pembuatan Eco Enzyme adalah air dan gula. Gula yang digunakan yaitu bisa gula putih dan bisa juga gula merah.

Eco Enzyme ini pertama kali dikembangkan dan dikenalkan oleh Dr. Rosukan Poopanvong yang merupakan pendiri dari Asosiasi Pertanian. Organik (Organic Agriculture Association) di Thailand.

Dr. Rosukan Poopanpong menciptakan Eco Enzyme ini pada awalnya bertujuan untuk mengurangi penumpukan sampah dan global warming.

Di sisi lain, Pemerintah Kota Jakarta Selatan dan Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan mengembangkan pengolahan sampah untuk meminimalkan emisi gas rumah kaca di Jakarta.

Asisten Perekonomian dan Pembangunan Jakarta Selatan Mukhlisin mengatakan ada berbagai program pengolahan sampah yang dilakukan, termasuk menggunakan larva lalat (maggot) black soldier fly.

“Pengolahan sampah ini menjadi eco enzyme, yang salah satu manfaatnya dapat mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca dari sampah,” ucap Mukhlisin dalam keterangan tertulisnya di Jakarta, Senin, 8 Agustus 2022.

Lingkungan yang memiliki pengelolaan sampah mandiri, ujar Mukhlisin, menjadi kunci mewujudkan lingkungan permukiman yang asri. Pemilahan sampah yang dilakukan warga setempat juga mengubah gaya hidup warga menjadi lebih sehat dan ramah lingkungan.

Salah satu lingkungan yang menerapkan pemilahan sampah adalah di RW 02 Kelurahan Guntur Kecamatan Setiabudi, Jakarta Selatan. Dengan memilah sampah secara mandiri, jumlah sampah yang dikirim ke TPST Bantargebang dari kelurahan itu pun berkurang.

“Sampah yang dikirim ke Bantargebang tidak sampai 1.600 ton dan terus dikurangi,” kata Mukhlisin.

Lurah Guntur Leo Harahap mengatakan semua program pengolahan sampah adalah hasil kerja keras warganya. Mereka antusias ketika menjadi peserta pengolahan sampah tingkat nasional.

“Ketika penilaian sudah masuk ke tingkat nasional, mendengarnya aja ‘wah udah keren nih’, Makanya warga antusias mau bantu,” ujar Leo.

Selain warga RW 02 Kelurahan Guntur, ada banyak pihak yang terlibat dalam program pengolahan sampah untuk mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca di Jakarta. Mulai dari ASN, tiga pilar, hingga Petugas Prasarana dan Sarana Umum (PPSU).
