We cannot see directly the negative impact of using social media on the environment. One of the negative impacts caused is contributing to carbon emission figures.

When we actively use social media, our cellphone or device will also continue to be active. With an intense and continuous active period, these devices also need energy to survive.

This is where the contribution of carbon emissions begins. By charging continuously and intensely, the electricity usage will also be higher.

What we know is that much of the electricity produced still uses fossil energy as its generator.

That doesn’t mean we have to completely abandon social media because of its bad effects. What we need to do is be wise in using it.

Being wise in social media is not only able to protect ourselves from the effects of gadget radiation. But it can also protect our earth so that it can remain a friendly and comfortable place for living things in this world.

By using social media as a place to seek entertainment at a minimum. Replace these activities with environmentally friendly activities such as planting in your home garden, cleaning up trash around your environment, or trying to make art from recyclable materials.
