Kualifikasi Umum
- Candidates must possess at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Remote Sensing/GIS, Forestry, Environmental Science, or any related field. Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of professional working experience in GIS and Remote Sensing in the field of forestry, environmental science, or related field.
- Knowledge and prior experience with AFOLU project development under Verra, Gold Standard, or other relevant standards.
- Knowledge of forest mapping and monitoring; knowledge of REDD+ and ARR mapping using GIS required.
- Demonstrated ability to use GIS and remote sensing analytical software (such as QGIS, ArcGIS, ERDAS, ENVI, Global Mapper, etc.) for image processing and analysis.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and delivering high-impact results. Self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills; extreme attention to detail.
- Professional experience in project management and project reporting.
- Demonstrated professional-level fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is required.
- Ability to travel to project sites, as required.
Deskripsi Pekerjaan
Technical analyses, project development and monitoring:
- Lead technical analyses related to Nature Based Solutions (NBS) project opportunities, project design and development, and monitoring. The tasks will focus mostly on AFOLU carbon projects (e.g., REDD, IFM, ARR, biochar, etc.). Analyses and reporting performed include (amongst others) remote sensing tasks, biomass (AGB and BGB) assessment in peat and mangroves, peat depth modeling, hydrology modeling, estimation of carbon emissions reductions/removals, etc.
- Ensure technical excellence and innovation in approach, in compliance with international (e.g., Verra VCS-CCBS, Gold Standard, etc.) and national requirements.
- Support Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the climate components in all stages of the project’s phases, ensuring that SOPs reflect current best practices, technological advancements, and international and national regulatory requirements.
- Lead the technical reviews of external partners/subcontractors’ work in relation to climate components.
GIS Analyses - Take the lead in performing GIS-RS analyses on satellite data, and developing spatial solutions for GIS-RS components in support of evaluation of project opportunities, project development, Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) process. This includes geo-referencing, calibration, image processing and analysis, feature extraction, and the land cover/land use analysis, change detection, spatial modelling. Ensure technical excellence and innovation in approach.
- Provide expert support and recommendations for the adoption GIS-RS best practices across projects’ life
cycle. - Ensure methodologies are up-to-date, efficient, and aligned with project goals and standard’s
requirements.
