Pushing the Use of Electric Vehicles, PLN Operates Second SPKLU in East Borneo

The State Power Company (PLN) has begun the operation of a public power charging station (SPKLU) in East Kalimantan. Saleh Siswanto, the general manager of the PLN Central Unit of East and North Kalimantan (UIW Kaltimra), said the presence of this facility would make it easier for electric vehicle users to charge their batteries. As a result, PLN continues to expand the operation of the SPKLU unit in the courtyard of the PLNUP3 office in Samarinda. This SPKLU is the second SPKLU in East Kalimantan.

Saleh said it plays an active role in providing support facilities for electric vehicles in Indonesia. He hopes that increasing SPKLU will accelerate the introduction of electric vehicles. The presence of SPKLU aims to increase the friendliness of responsible electric vehicle owners. He also explained that PLN is committed to inspiring lifestyle campaigns using electric vehicles.

In addition, Christianus Benny of the East Kalimantan ESDM Office welcomed the beginning of the electric vehicle era in East Kalimantan as air pollution increases and the number of drivers increases. Therefore, he said that the transition from fuel cells to green electric vehicles is essential. He also believes that as SPKLU increases in East Kalimantan, so does the ecosystem of electric vehicles.
